The night time reveals too us lucky few that lie awake,
Searching for sleep without ever finding it
A beauty known only by a few
Who stay awake to witness the sun,
Rising anew.
This untapped, raw beauty
Is not always appreciated as it should be
With eyes full of wonder, hearts full of hope
It is a sign that the world is sleeping
And for some reason you are not
You may not know why
But some thoughts just seem to make the brain rot.
Rot in the silence of this early morning beauty,
This thought of some person some thing
Possessing your mind, driving you insane
Knowing you will have to endure this
Again and again.
I know the thing which keeps me awake
It's a person, the same person who rule's my head
The same person who causes my heart to ache
To wonder what would have been
If I had ever realised she was keen
To know me, to like me maybe even love me
This mistake makes living feel like a constant death
Except I can't sleep.
So I look out of my window an witness an early beauty
And try to forget the face
That is in my mind all the time,
Looking back I feel disgrace
But then again at least at least my poems would rhythm
But that seems to have changed through time.
