You may have already considered destinations such as Mexico, Brazil and the Caribbean as affordable destinations to explore but what about other places?

Europe:

While Western Europe's most popular destinations such as London, France and Athens are out for the moment due to the high Euro and Pound many countries in Eastern Europe are much more affordable...

Poland - Polish people love Americans! Visit the old cities and rural villages; explore museums, cathedrals and monuments...

Prices: Hotel: 4* in Warsaw under $200 per night
Flight: Averaging $2,000 from New York
Beer: $3.00 or less at most bars

Morocco Home of the flying carpet! Warm weather all year, stunning views wherever you look and a tourist friendly nation.

Prices: Hotel: 4* in Marrakech under $150 per night
Flight: $2,000 - $2,500 from New York
Beer: $3.00

Also consider Hungary, Latvia, Slovakia, Malta, Croatia, Slovenia, Estonia, Romania, Albania and the Czech Republic.

If you really want to see London some hotels have a fixed dollar rate with flights included but you still have to eat and pay for all the sight-seeing. With the Olympics being held in London in 2012 it may be best to wait until then.

South America:

Ecuador A tropical paradise with no need to worry about exchange rates or price conversion with the currency being US dollars! Perfect for beach holidays, exploring jungles and Volcanoes plus trekking.

A note on prices Hotel prices are based on 2adults sharing a double room. Flights are based on a return ticket for 1 adult. Obviously there are cheaper hotels and more expensive ones, the same goes for flights so do shop around!
