Causes and natural treatments for PMS

Premenstrual Syndrome or PMS is a hormonal problem that is thought to be an inadequate amount of progesterone in the body in the days prior to menstruation. Because all of the body's hormones work in an integrated, balancing way, other hormones which affect the salt and sugar levels are also involved in the way the syndrome expresses itself in any woman.

Did you know that fluid retention is thought to be crucial factor in the syndrome? Did you also know that as it affects all body cells, especially the brain cells, the symptoms can extend from weight gain to headaches and irritability?

The list of PMS symptoms is indeed extensive and includes all of the following symptoms aches and pains, acne spots, anger, anxiety, depression, emotional distress, fatigue, frustration, changes in eating and sleeping patterns, irrational thinking, loss of concentration and memory, loss of libido, swelling of the breast, tension, weight gain and even many other symptoms.

Some women find themselves overwhelmed by several of the different symptoms of PMS each month all combined together which is horrible to experience. Even experience just one of the PMS symptoms can be almost too much for some women. Unlike many other medical conditions friends and family cannot see the cause of the trouble.

Did you know that the condition has been recognized as real and those women who find themselves behaving so irrationally that they end up in court for shoplifting or out of a job for throwing the typewriter at the boss may be freed and forgiven?

But this does not alleviate the actual problem of PMS which will return each and every month unless there is some kind of treatment for PMS. There are tranquilizers that are often prescribed but these are merely calming and somebody can easily become dependent upon them because a person needs them month after month.

Did you know that a course of vitamin B6 or evening primrose oil is more likely to prove beneficial? Did you also know that aromatherapy and the use of essential oils have proved highly effective in treating this condition or should I say conditions?

Being that every woman experiences PMS in her own unique way it is impossible for me to provide one simple solution to everyone's problems. However, to a certain extent you will find your own treatment from the information that I will provide here. If you have more than one symptom try different essential oils mix together until you find what works best for you.
