For a short while I was almost a rider on the climate change band wagon. At first I had a tendency to agree with what I was hearing about the damage "we" were doing to the planet. But then I started paying closer attention to exactly what was being said, and exactly who was saying it.
I agree a lot of things are happening to pollute the earth, but who is the finger pointing at? You and I that's who. Us, the hard working middle class american, what a surprise! The wake- up call for me was when I watched Al Gore spread his message on global warming.
How can a man spend eight years in the White House as Vice President mind you, and never say a word on global warming when he could have? Now all of a sudden he is so concerned. I checked into the buzz and found the level of his hipocracy mind-blowing.You don't have to take my word for it, just check him out for yourself. It's a joke.
People such as Al Gore and all the celebrities on their fad "green" trip, constantly tell us to cut back on this, do without that. Do they really believe we are that stupid? well, maybe some of us are. It seems a lot of good folks put their faith in the words of the rich and famous, just because they happen to be their favorite actor, or singer, or whatever. Tell me which of these pampered ninnies living in excess is cutting back or doing without anything? I would say nearly zero. With the exception of Ed Beglet Jr. I don't see any of them doing what they are telling us we need to do. That's where I have a problem.
Go on television and talk about the climate and you've done your part right? I don't think so. It's the same theory as when all these multi-millionaires are asking us to send our money to a cause. "We need your help" they whine endlessly. Afterwards sliding into a limo, catching a private jet, and hopping on down to their exclusive hot spot where the likes of you or I would be snubbed and ridiculed right on out the door. "Pennies from the peasants." How that line makes me cringe.
I believe we should help others, but there are people close to home right now that would benefit greatly from our help. We all know somebody. As far as doing our part to save the Earth, I'm sure the next President will lay the blame squarely on our shoulders; Yes yours and mine, as he asks for each of us to turn our thermostat back, ride a bike to work, skip the vacation, and on and on. Come on America, you can do it! We peasants don't need any luxuries anyway. Just keep on working twelve-hour days, six-days a week and send your money to Al, he''ll fix the ozone with all those millions he made promoting his genius idea. He's getting the last laugh right now, he in his well-lit Tennessee mansion, and his fine dining on endangered sea life. Oh, and the jet is warming up on the runway.
The Earth will take care of itself, it always has and always will. Let the next President concentrate on the economy, jobs, gas prices, security; you know, little things like that.
