If you're carrying high that means it's a boy, if you carry low that means it's a girl.

While this might seem to have some truth to it, the bottom line is there is no predictor other than an ultrasound that can give you a good determination of what the sex of the baby is. While ultrasounds give you a good picture of what you are going to have, they are still not 100 percent.

When I was pregnant with my first daughter, I carried high. Everyone was so determined that I was having a boy that nothing was bought but blues and neutral colors. The neutrals were for the just in case. I had a feeling that I wasn't having a boy, but instead having a girl.

For me unfortunately, I think that most people wanted me to have a boy because there wasn't one in my family. Maybe they thought that if they pressed the boy issue that is what it was going to be.

My mother planned many baby shower games around all the old wives tales and 90 percent of the results pointed to boy. Well, then if there was truth behind all these old wives tales, I would have had a boy.

Two weeks before I was due to deliver my belly shrank, and of course another ultrasound was order. I hadn't known what I was having as the legs were crossed during the first ultrasound. This ultrasound proved all the old wives tales completely wrong. 100 percent all girl. Two weeks later, I delivered a girl.

All those boys closed I had were donated or saved for the future in case a boy did arrive.

5 years later I got pregnant again, and nothing was different. I carried the same and everything pointed to a boy. Wrong again. This time, nothing was purchased gender specific until I found out what it was. Once again, a girl.

My third pregnancy was a little different. I had a feeling that it was a boy. However I carried low and had all the signs that it was a girl. Now where history has told me that the signs aren't true, and might be the opposite, I thought maybe this one was a boy. And low and behold, I got my first and only penis.

It was an ecstatic day for the entire family. But through all the trials and errors, it told me there is no predictor on what you are having, then an ultrasound or a birth.

The bottom line is every pregnancy is different and pregnancies are different for every person. No one should rely on the results of a test that is not medically scientific.

While some of these tests may prove right for some people, those are just the lucky ones who 50/50 worked for.
