Pending Clinical Intervention
Do you think it strange,
perhaps subtly deranged
that out of the blue it seems
I'm suddenly finding you in dreams?
Might you find it perplexing,
even mildly vexing
if I were to tell you flat out
precisely what these dreams were about?
It occurs to me you would,
and potentially should
find the scenario curious
given our relationship spurious.
So I'll tell you in no uncertain terms
of the talk of fanciful yearns
and steamy, sexy places
looming in subconscious spaces.
And while this doesn't seem shocking
your laughter, indeed, is mocking
the whole story is yet to unfold
after all, anticipation has the greatest literary hold.
For as you know, nocturnal visions are hardly rare
or even something of a scandalous affair
they are simply the natural course of action
that give no cause for 24 lines of reaction.
It's the manner of delivery, you see
as you were not in the dream with me
at least not in actual dream-like physique
now, don't you think this adds to the mystique?
This story I write in 30 lines
coined with vicious circular rhymes
of devilish lust and carnal-like groans
is nothing more than dreamt sex via phone.

or oiled fingers glancing over knotted calves

I saw Lincoln crying, last night, in deepest slumber
My heart ached for him, his tears, so many in number
And although he seemed
-"Transcendence of Three Dimensions"-
Waking up is a silvery blur
Of things that are and things that were
Things that have not
Last night I had a dream
and you were there with me
so I held back my scream
you said, come on, this is our destiny
and I followed
