Quite a few embarassing things have happened to me over the years but there is only one that sticks out enough to be considered THE answer to this question. The majority of answers are going to be from ones youth as you haven't yet learned to deal with embarassing and unsettling situations when you are a child or in your teens. Mine came at the awkward mid teenager phase where everything was a drama or a crisis, which is why it probably sticks out so much in my mind.

I was around 14 and stood on the school fields with the rest of my school year and the year above. All in all few hundred teenagers milling around, waiting to be instructed back towards the school buildings after an afternoon of cross country running around the school perimeter. My memory of it now seems hazy, almost as if it happened too quickly, but I can still feel myself going red whenever I think of it to this day. I was stood right on the egde of the huge group of kids minding my own business when all of a sudden I could feel the air rushing around my legs. Someone had snuck up behind me and pulled my shorts down. This would be bad enough but they had succeeded in also pulling my underwear down at with the same movement and they now stood tangled at my feet. Laughter rang toward me and all I can really remember visually is a friend of mine with one hand over his mouth in shock and the other pointing in my direction, well in the direction of my crotch! My first reaction wasn't to reach down and calmly pull up my undergarments as I would if it happened to me now, but to stand in shock for a second or two before struggling to untangle my underwear making the whole situation even harder to bear.

I can't remember what happened immediately after, I must have blocked it from my memory, but for a good year or so after one of the girls insisted on calling me 'wee willy winkie' despite her not even being present when the incident occured. It is still something that is brought up to this day when anecdotes from our youth are shared between friends. The incident occured infront of a wide audience and had the physical comedy factor which meant that it was instantly recognisable as a story to pass on and something that I would have to endure for some time which totals to an accumulative embarrasement over many years to go with the initial red face and shocked genitals, out in the open for the first time. If I had my shorts pulled down now I'd probably still be very embarrased but not for too long and would probably use it to my advantage as a story to tell on my own behalf.
