The Small Pond by the Mountain Side
The mountain tops are growing upward closer to the sky.
While by the small pond; the small house is leaning toward the edge of the pond.
On a wall of the house stand the words small house but our house.
In the forest small trees try to wedge their way past the bushes to join the tall trees.
On a ledge of a mountain rest an eagle trying to hide from the winter winds.
While slowly moving its way through the dense forest; a wolf and his family try to reach the small pond without being noticed.
Filled with leaves from the trees; the small pond is full of fish.
As the land was tilled for next year's crops; the leaves will once again grow on the trees.
And the small pond by the mountain side will once again be filled with water from the winter rains.
