Achieving peace of mind

Peace is something that I have always yearned for. I love peace. I used to pray for world peace when I was a little child. I do not like to see my parents quarrel when I was young.

What is peace and how do you know you have peace a not? Have you ever experienced time where your hearts and mind are in turmoil - your hearts beating fast, your mind are 'packed', very 'packed' with problems.

Your hearts are beating fast not because you have just finished exercise. Your hearts are beating fast for it is anxious. You are frustrated, irritated, anxious, perplexed or even annoyed with certain people or events in your life. There is obviously no peace when such things happened, you feel more stress than peace!

Peace is a state of the body whereby both the heart, the body and the mind all are in equilibrium with one another. Everything just synchronize well, and you feel calm and at ease. Peace is a state of inner being. A person who is really in peace will experience peace no matter where he/she goes. You can feel peaceful even if you are in a noisy restaurant. You can feel peaceful too when you are traveling on a bumpy ride.

To achieve peace, you have to practice self-control. You have to open up your mind, you have to learn to view things from a different angle. The first step in achieving peace is to learn to accept, accept people around you - accept the differences in people and accept the nature of things around you. In acceptance of people and things/events around you, you would learn not to blame the people and things around you.

Being contented, thankful and be appreciative of what you have also helps in achieving your peace of mind. A mind that is never contented with any amount of possession is hard to be at peace. Another important trait which you must learn in order to achieve peace is "To Love And To Forgive". Knowing that we are imperfect human beings, we made mistakes, so do people around us. Though it is hard to forgive, but it is not impossible.

The next tip to achievement of peace of mind is to get your life organized. Unable to cope with everyday life will not lead you to peace of mind. Coping with your everyday life might be balancing your work and personal life. Getting a time table with all the essential time for important tasks scheduled for yourself is a good way to balance your life. Another way of getting your life more organized is to write down all the important things-to-do in your diary or table planner
