Looking for a relaxing, affordable vacation? Have you recently been putting in extra hours, trying to earn enough money to survive in the current tough economic times, but now need a break to recharge? You also want to see and experience somewhere different; get out of town and away, maybe travel overseas. But those dollars were hard to earn and you want to make sure that they are well spent; you want the best international value for your dollar.
Where should you go, what should you do? Europe, with the Euro, just keeps getting more expensive and the same applies to England. While Asia is fascinating, it is a long way from the US and currently Africa or the Middle East may not be safest for you or the family. Mexico and South America sound nice, but be careful of the crime and don't drink the water! Everywhere seems to have a problem.
Why not consider the smaller islands in the Eastern Caribbean? They have great service, great beaches, some lovely mountains, fascinating history, and are close to home yet exotic, and definitely international. Also the Eastern Caribbean Dollar is directly tied to the U. S. Dollar, so exchange rates, (US$3 = EC$8) won't change, your value is guaranteed! Of course you will need to learn English with a Caribbean Accent, but that is probably easier than learning Swahili or fighting lions!
In the Eastern Caribbean everyone knows about the beautiful beaches and clear waters, but often miss the inland mountains waiting to be explored. Down in the Caribbean one will discover both European and American history intertwined with the diverse cultures. The Caribbean is a wide region with a lot to offer. Barbados, Antigua, St. Martin, St. Lucia, Grenada are all popular with a lot to offer, but do you want crowds or deals? Hard choices!
But are you traveling solo. or with with friends and family? If so you want variety and everything in one location; everybody needs to have a good time. Also, vacations are for relaxing and while you may want activities during the day, nights are for moonlight dancing and fine dining, listening to music on the beach as it mixes with the waves rolling ashore. So where to choose and what to do? Think about a combination destination. Somewhere that offers a wide selection of activities amongst a variety of scenery, with good restaurants and comfortable lodgings at the best price. You want a place that gives good entertainment and educational value for those U.S. dollars. Check out Nevis, it is an excellent choice!
Nevis? You never heard of Nevis? Don't feel alone, most haven't, that's why it is not crowded or overdeveloped. Nevis is a 36 square mile island located in the Northern Antilles. It has a central volcanic peak, yet the coasts are surrounded by coral reefs. This results in glittering black sand volcanic beaches as well as a few white sand, coral-based beaches. These are combined with places to hike and bike as well as ride horses, all offered on Nevis. You can have cool trips to the rain forests or bask in the warm sun on the beach after diving the clear waters, the best of everything!
Maybe you want to explore under the sea? Nevis Reefs can't really compare to the ones found in the Saba Bank (few places can), but there is some lovely diving and snorkeling on reefs near shore, plus there are several hundred wrecks in the waters nearby and even a sunken plane! The Dive company (there is only one) has one of the best dive masters in the Caribbean, and top grade equipment.
Lodging on Nevis isn't cheap, but few places worth going are; remember, you get what you pay for! This is about the best international destinations for the U.S. dollar, not the cheapest places available. The service on Nevis is superb and the crime rate lower than on many other destinations. Dining can be an adventure on its own, Nevis food is rated some of the best in the Caribbean, and even the world. Restaurants range from the ultra deluxe to very local.
Check out Nevis and get the best international value for that U.S. dollar, and change your life!
