Greg Biffle. The Shining Star of Nascar!
If you are a true Nascar fan, then you are no stranger to the name Greg Biffle. If you aren't, then the name may be unfamiliar to you. But I assure you, that won't be the case for long! Greg has an extremely aggresive driving style. This is totally obvious from the moment he hits the track! Whether it's in practice, race trim or qualifying set-up. Greg drives the wheels off just about any kind of vehicle that you put him in!
This was totally obvious from the very beginning of his career in Nascar sponsored events.
The first time Greg came to the attention of anyone in Nascar, was when he was seen by Nascar hall of Famer, Benny Parsons. Greg was driving in the Nascar Winter heat series at the time. This was during the 1995 and 96 series, in Washington state.
You see, this was where Greg Biffle was born and raised. Born December 23rd. 1969 in Vancouver washington. By the time Greg was in highschool, he had all ready decided that racing was what he wanted to do for his career. He worked on his own cars and had an excellent career on the short tracks, by the time he was in his early twenties.
Greg being seen by Benny Parsons was the big break he had been looking for because Benny and Jack Rousch were good friends, and if you know anything about Nascar, then you'll know Mr. Rousch is one of the largest and most powerful owner's in the Nascar Sprint Cup series. The Craftmans Truck series and the NationWide series as well! At any rate, Mr. Rousch signed Greg as his driver in the Craftmans truck series in 1998, and immediately had a great rookie year! He scored four Bud Pole awards, along with eight top five and twelve top ten finishes that year. This earned him the Cintas rookie of The Year Honors. In all truth, he was just getting started. The very next season, in 1999, Greg set a Craftmans truck record with nine wins in a single season and just missed winning the championship by eight points!
In 2000 Greg won five races. Had eighteen top five finishes and grabbed the Craftmans Truck Championship once again! You could plainly see, Greg had talent to spare and this was very early in his Nascar sponsored racing career!
In 2001, Mr. Biffle and his sponsor Grainger, moved to the Nascar Busch series. Where he had a stand out year with five wins, two Bud Pole awards and sixteen top five and twenty one top ten finishes. Also taking the rookie of the year award, yet again!
In 2002, Greg scored four wins with five Bud pole awards. Twenty
