How to keep readers interested in your novel

Want to keep your readers interested ? This is how authors tempt readers not only into reading a novel from start to finish, but also tempt them to buy future editions. Have you ever watched a disappointing movie or a read a book which didn't meet your expectations ? This article takes you, the potential writer of a novel, through the processes which keep readers interested in your novel, so that yours does not come under the description of a "disappointing read".

RESEARCHING.

Before taking pen to paper and joining the masses of would-be writers, researching helps you to narrow the field and to decide the genre of novel you believe you would be best at writing. Researching also gives you a chance to find the market for your work. This is a vital part of the road to success, and also aiming at the right readership. Using sources like the Writers & Artists Yearbook, in conjunction with websites like Amazon.com, you can look at which publishing companies publish books in genres that are new and popular and to whom your work would appeal. Publishers know their business. They also know what spells success and what is out of style.
