Testimonies: Post partum depression, "the baby blues"

Walking Buddies (Get one, or more)
February 15/08
My son Evan is just 3 days away from being 1 year old. As I reflect on the events of the past year. I am grateful for the great friends I have made since the birth of my son! Evan too, has made many good friends. (it's kinda funny because he's only one, lol.) But the truth is without Nicole, and her son Jayden, and Holly and her daughter Tianna.(All 3 kids are withinsix months of each other) I would have never been as active in the past summer as I was. It's always more fun to do something that feels a bit like a chore, with someone else,It just makes it more fun.

I believe that the relationships between our kids will remain strong as they grow together. I really look forward to watching them all do something they shouldn't have, and all being grounded at the same time. You know it's gonna happen. Hahaha ! There has been a strong bond between the Bennett's and Mckeag's family has been unbreakable for at least the last three generations. Do you know how many groundings there must have been in that amount of time between us all, hahaha ! I hope that Tianna is right there beside them, Lmao! She'll be our "Tom Boy" I can see it now !

I really look forward to growing with my girls Holly and Nicole. As the three of us sit down together drinkin' tea, trying to decide how we'll alldeal with our terrible two's,first day of school, first fights, girlfriends, first school dance.! OMG, We are gonna have so muchfun !

Ok so there is a point to all of this, I swear. You need friends to help you get off the couch, open your curtains, answer your phone ! Being a single parent in any case is tough. The best (and only way) to get through it is to have a great support system in place. Whereone will call the other and say get up, get dressed, meet you outside in half an hour. And even though you really don't feel like moving, you will, and you'll be so glad you did at the end of the day !(Trust me, lol)Your friends are the greatest gift you'll ever receive,(other than your children of course!)cherish them always. Be loyal and true, never do anything to hurt them. They will do the same for you !

Last summer Nicole and I walked our butts off (literally)AfterEvan was born I lost 40lbs in thefirst4 months, loosing the remaining 25lbsin the following two months. We walked EVERYWHERE. Not because we had to, but because we likedto do it, and our kids Loved it. We were outside in the fresh air from mid morning, till near supper time most days. There's always a nice shady park bench under a tree that we could set up for lunch and to get outof that killer12 to 2pm UVrays. There is so much for us to do that's close enough that we can walk. We've actually had days where we've walked for nearly 8 hours in a day, lol !
