Heavenly father I ask you
Please if you have the time
Take a look at the words I've written
See if you like the rhyme
Too often I've taken the credit
For the thoughts you have given me
It is you that has put them there
Always been clear to see
You gently placed your hands
And let the right words flow
Some I don't even recognize
Others I don't even know
Some are from deep inside of me
Others have faded and died
Some words have struggled hard to be
feelings that wanted to hide
I pray when all is said and done
My words are written down
In ways that are never harmful
And bring smiles instead of frowns
Amen

Poetry: A writer's prayer
by Ann Major
I need no hallowed halls to pray,
Nor church bells ringing to thank my days.
To be alive is much to live for
To be loved, is
Heavenly father I ask you
Please if you have the time
Take a look at the words I've written
See if you like the rhyme
Too often
by Sid de Knees
Oh Lord,
Oh Lord, let me scoop out their pains
and ease this moments writers block,
let me help them to write for you,
or find
Let my metaphors be extended.
Let my mind be quick.
Let my attention be unerring.
Let my details be keen as the eye of a surgeon
and
As morning dawns across the lands,
The world at peace, as God commands;
This is writer's prayer.
For governments that help
