Start-Up Magazine
As a start-up publication having people take you seriously can be a challenge, but thus far our Premiere issue has proven to be a success, and has taken a few set-backs in the little time since its release in December 2007. Set-backs that may have let us lag a bit behind in distribution, but hasn't deterred us from making this the best magazine to ever hit the market.

Working for a new publication can be challenging; especially for those considered a start-up, which only entails a lot of hard work, dedication, and commitment to make it as successful as all other trend setters already paving the way. As Deputy Editor I have been pretty busy proofreading, editing and researching all submitted material, as well as my own, and find it all exciting and rewarding in the sense that we have developed something new. In addition to all responsibilities outlined above, I also dabbled a bit with promotion and marketing, quality assurance, website monitoring and Media Kit outline as well as assisted with Bio's for every major player on our team.
Basically all magazines out now focus a lot on celebrities, artists and fashion, and although we thrive to do the same, we will also offer our readers a lot of relationship based articles, solutions and stories that will not only address issues of high concern, but close to home as well. As an avid reader, the one thing that bores me about the magazines out now are the many ads they place within its folds, which makes you scan and search for that one particular article that made you buy the magazine in the first place.
Believe me when I say I do not purchase a magazine based on Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt being on the cover, nor do I care too much about seeing pictures of their new twins, yet do wish them well and lots of blessings for a wonderful and healthy upbringing. Women give birth everyday, some may be blessed with one, or maybe multiple births, yet they are not offered millions of dollars to have their children plastered all over a certain magazine, newspaper or website. It pains me to say many readers have nothing better to do than to dream of a life they will never have.
Relationships is one topic never really focused on unless theirs something violent involved, and the few that do add such an interesting piece, will only do so at random. Celebrities are not immune to the every day mundane experiences we all endure. They may have the financial stability to buy another home, car or yacht, but they too have problems ranging from drug or alcohol abuse, to having affairs or contemplating it, and even divorces. They too have a feeling of inadequacy when being the one left behind, and for that reason and that reason alone, I only bother to read about upcoming movies my favorite stars will soon star in. Their personal lives although heart wrenching at times is not my main concern, which is why our publication offers many more relationship based articles, be it at home, work or your social life. We will aim to cover change, growth, awareness; maturity and success, and feel that with every publication offered we will stay true to that. I am glad to have come across such a great team of people; not to mention, a magazine that will with the help of all involved, and the grace of God, evolve into something great.
