Illegal immigrants in the United States has been a problem for a long time because of millions of people aspiring to be American citizens. People look at the United States as the land of milk and honey, where one could earn much, much more than what he is earning in his own country. It is a very powerful country that a lot of people are dreaming to be a part of it. The increase in illegal immigrants is becoming more and more as people especially from the third world countries break the law just to be able to enter the United States.

These illegal immigrants have their own reasons for leaving their own countries and going to the United States illegally. One reason for this is, it is very hard to apply for a visa to the United States and people end up becoming illegal immigrants. There are people who do anything they can in order for them to go to the United States. They pay people to work on their illegal papers. They do all means in order to be able to land in the country because they look at the United States as a place where one could earn a lot of money and where every opportunity is there to take hold of. Not to mention the beauty of the place and the comfort it offers to the citizens.

Sometimes, we cannot blame people for becoming illegal immigrants. Each one of us is seeking a greener pasture especially in this present situation of economy in all countries. There are people who seek for a better life in other countries and these are the people who should be given consideration to become citizens of the United States. For as long as they abide by the laws and become productive citizens of the country, there is no reason for them to be rejected. Unless they break laws and could not contribute to the betterment of the country, they should be deported.

Deportation could only be the option if the illegal immigrant has a criminal case that he is trying to evade in his country. People who use other countries as a hideout for crimes committed must not be given any consideration to become citizens of the United States. They would only be liabilities instead of assets.

Illegal immigrants in the United States should be carefully and properly assessed before any action should be done. Illegal immigrants who have clean backgrounds should be given considerations and only the illegal immigrants with problems in their countries must be deported. In this way, those who have honest intentions would be given chances to become citizens.
