Did I tell you what happened today?
It was a dreadful thing!
A beautiful eagle had fallen from the sky
And landed in the middle of the street.
There was a commotion thereafter,
"Save the eagle!"
They all cried.
But the valiant bird,
With tears trickling from its eyes,
Oh! The poor bird,
Died...died...died.
It just closed its eyes and exhaled its last breath.
As the gawkers gawked,
The cryers, oh, they really cried.
I, too, cried for the innocent bird
For its wings will no longer enable it to soar
Throughout the limitless skies.
