Twinkling Christmas lights dance in the night sky. Different colors and designs reflect the personality of the owner. Icicles hanging down, tiny LED lights, flashing white ones, cascading multi-color with big or little light bulbs, entwining rope lights and novelty lights decorate the rows of houses. Window displays hint at elaborately decorated rooms. Yard displays invoke interest and fun. All to the delight of children and adults.

Looking for the right Christmas lights and displays can be a daunting task. Finding the right look and lights will have its own reward. Ensure that outdoor lights are used outdoors and that indoor lights are left indoors.

* Colors
White light Christmas lights radiate a snow-feel with white icicles hanging down. They sparkle and reflect a common theme. Multi-color lights add drama and fun. They often compliment a big blown Santa or galloping reindeer. Whatever the choice, the Christmas lights will be enchanting.

* Size
Big bulb Christmas lights broadcast their brilliant light. They are also easier to replace when a bulb burns out. Small ones twinkle like little stars. They can get difficult to replace. Be careful of light strings that go out when only one bulb burns out. Led lights give subtle lighting emphasizing certain aspects of the Christmas decorations.

* Selecting Yard Decorations
Nativity scenes are extremely popular at Christmas. Christmas lights enhance the visibility and mood of these scenes. A blow-up Santa adds a bit of fun to the yard. Galloping reindeer with Rudolf's red nose give a bit of punch. Led lights lite up arches and trees creating a festive mood. .

* Selecting Window Decorations
Window decorations draw the viewer in. Whether it is a menorah with its dancing flame candles, a brilliantly lit Christmas star, or a plate of cookies enticing Santa to come leave lots of presents, the beauty tantalizes about what is inside.

* Easy Set-up
Check to see how the Christmas lights and decorations are assembled. There is nothing like getting home and finding that the proper hooks are missing or not having a long enough extension cords to drive up the frustration meter. Hanging off a ladder can be dangerous so always implement proper safety procedures before installing the Christmas lights.

* Price
Christmas lights are usually affordable. However, many yard decorations may eat into the budget. Keep in mind that the more Christmas lights there are, the more the electricity bill is going to be.

Christmas lights and the decorations bring the holiday season to life. Faces light up as their eye catches brilliant displays. However, there is nothing like standing outside looking up at the magic created when those Christmas lights spring to life.
