She was like a cancer
originating with one
unsuspecting individual
and surrounding him
cutting him away
from the family that
needed and loved him.
starting with me
slicing through our
familial bond
creating walls of sutures
too thick to escape.
She worked efficiently,
one by one, cast them aside
cut them out with the
surgical precision
of a doctor
Until, all that remained
were she and he
and the life they created.
