You are my sword
And you found me
I held you in my hand
As you defended me, valiantly
You are my shield
And you shielded me
I stood behind you
As you protected me, fearlessly
You are my shelter
And you housed me
I lived in you
As you kept me warm, humbly
Then you stabbed me with your sword
And smothered me with your shield
And locked me in your house
And threw away the key
What I thought was care
Has turned to glass
What I thought was tender
Has turned to stone
That stone has shattered the glass
And now hope is scattered
In pieces on the barren floor
Frail as ever than before
Even though hope is frail
It still carries on
It is hard to kill
My hope is strong
With my hope comes my faith
And that glass will turn to care
And that stone will be tender
And hope's strength will restore
My faith will heal my body
And my skin will be unscathed
And my lungs will fill with air
And I will live peacefully
Without you.

I wake in the night breathless
My senses remember your essence
My heart lingers on your presence
