Should we hook up the earth to life support? Is our planet going to die? Are we in the waiting room, anticipating the death of the planet we call home? I believe our planet, earth, is not dying. Things on the earth are going to die. Dying is a fact of life. 10 out of 10 people die. But do you really think that we can destroy the planet?
The glaciers melting, and the polar bears unable to find food, may seem like a striking clue that our earth is slowly passing away. What may be to blame for these types of situations are pollution, and the chemicals we use in our society on a day-today basis-but it is not going result in the entire planet coming to a halt. Extinction is not imminent for the entire human race, all the animals, and all the plants. I'm not sure what people think is going to "kill" our planet, but it certainly will not occur by pollution or chopping down trees.
There are some problems with the earth, such as oil spills and other hazardous materials getting into the ocean; killing the wildlife, and pollution in cities causing health problems. But how exactly will that cause our planet to die?
People believe that there must be a beginning and an end to everything, and the earth is one thing that they assume will also have an end. They would be correct. The earth will have an end, but not in the way that most people will be expecting.
Lots of people are "going green" as their part in the new movement to save the planet. But what are you saving it from?an explosion that will eliminate the world?-Or the human race and/or all animals going extinct?
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)." For those of you who believe in God, and also believe that is your duty to save the planetDo you really believe that your God would create this earth so that we would end up destroying it? Don't you believe that God is capable of sustaining our planet for our children and grandchildren? Yes, lots of things do happen to go wrong on our planet, but that is because sin entered our world, and it is not going to be perfect. The summers being too hot and winters being too cold may be a warning that the end is near, but not by our own powers will we kill the planet.
The destruction of the earth will occur somedayBut not by human hands. God will destroy the earth with fire, purifying it. But until that day comes, rest assured that this planet cannot die until the day that God planned for it to come to its end.
