For centuries parents have been giving their children cow's milk to drink believing that it helps a child to grow strong but in the 21st century, cow's milk has become obsolete. Why? Because not only does fortified soy milk have the same nutritional benefits as cow's milk, it has additional ones! Soy milk is fortified with important nutrients such as calcium, vitamin D, and vitamin B-12 all of which are found in cow's milk. However, soy milk has naturally occurring omega-3 fatty acids and heart healthy soy protein which are not found in cow's milk. Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for normal growth in young children. But cow's milk does not contain these essential fatty acids so it is lacking in a nutrient that is vital for a child's healthy development.

It's not just the additional nutrients that make soy milk superior to cow's milk but also what is missing from soy milk that makes it a better choice for one's children. Soy milk has no cholesterol, growth hormones, antibiotics, or pus all of which are found in cow's milk. The absences of these unhealthy substances make soy milk the obvious choice for one's children because no parent would knowingly put harmful substances into their own child's food.
The additives in cow's milk are bad enough but the human body also reacts negatively to dairy products in general. Most people suffer from some form of dairy allergy or intolerance. The most common reactions to dairy are phlegm and irregularity neither of which is pleasant. When one considers that cow's milk is meant for baby cows and that it provides sufficient nourishment for them to grow to be half ton adult cows one must come to the conclusion that it is very illogical for a human child to drink cow's milk. No wonder the obesity epidemic is afflicting children as well as adults! And all of this can be avoided completely by simply switching to soy milk.
So now it is apparent that soy milk is much healthier and cleaner than cow's milk but I forgot to mention what some might consider the most important factor in making the switch: the taste. Soy milk, despite what you may have been led to believe, tastes amazing! It is light and smooth and it comes in flavors which make that morning cereal extra tasty. You can use it just like you would use cow's milk in cakes, muffins, soups, coffee, or whatever. Kid's love the taste too. It comes in vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, and plain. I have even seen Chai and mocha flavors in some health food stores
So make the switch for your health and for your child's health. It is something you will never regret and with the rising cost of milk, now is the perfect time for change.
