The spiritual path is a path of thorns. The seeker must become a warrior. The spiritual seeker must avoid many temptations, and this often can lead to some serious conflicts within the seekers mind. The seeker must conform to a particular code of conduct, and it is not always an easy task at hand.
Buddha, Jesus, Krishna and so many others were spiritual heroes. They were able to fight the war within themselves; the inner battle that so often defeats the soldier within ourselves. The seeker must fight the turmoils and rage that boils in his blood, and come out a victor. He has cross the oceans of pain to merge in the sea of infinite bliss. He has to waiver the storms of denial and destruction to come to the serenity of peace. The aspirant needs to cultivate all good virtues, and also free himself from the delusion of the ego. His mind needs to be pure, and he should not harbour any negative or destructive thoughts towards other people. He needs to love other beings; regardless of what has transpired between them.
The aspirant needs to forsake the love of material gain, and see loss and gain as the same. He needs to wear insult and injury as garlands round his neck, and shun praise. The ego is very self destructive to the aspirant. He needs to have a heart of forgiveness and love his enemies with all- pervading compassion. The seeker must see good in all, and not see himself better than others.
The seeker needs to become one with the cosmic universe. He needs to forsake class, religion and race and realize that all are part and parcel of the divine. The seeker needs to see divinity in saints and sinners alike. He needs to be able to nurse a dying man with all the compassion in his heart, and at the same time not become attached to anyone in particular. The seeker should have the knowledge that everyone needs to move on in life, and see death as just another door that has opened in the cycle of life.
The seeker needs to have strong faith and belief. Whatever happens to him should be taken with a calm and cheerful attitude. He should immerse himself in the ocean of the cosmic divinity, and not be indulged in worldly activities, name and fame or personal development.
The seeker should shun all publicity, and only have love in his heart. He should not condemn others, or bear insult to injury.
The spiritual warrior is indeed brave. He has the mind of a Buddha, and sees the divine in everything. The warrior has to wither the turbulent ocean to come to the absolute truth.
