Choosing what is important between looks, money or character will alter in different circumstances.
1) Appearance: It is undeniable that looks are considered very important in today's society, for more often than not this is the initial factor which causes attraction between the members of the opposite gender. As a result teenagers spend a lot of time and effort on their appearance before going out socialising. In a pub, night club or restaurant you usually try and impress others by your appearance to catch initial attention. Often there is a direct correlation between how you look and how you are treated, for example a girl can go out wearing an oversize shirt, trainers and jeans and no one will notice her. However if the same girl goes out in a tight top, short skirt and heels, with make-up and hair down and flowing, then it is almost a hundred percent certain that she will be whistled at from passing cars. In modelling or photography, how a person looks is very important. Models are chosen either because they have a certain figure, stance or look which makes them particularly photogenic or because they have the right frame which shows clothes off to their best advantage.
What you wear in school or job interviews can be a deciding factor in whether you are appointed or not. You can tell a great deal about someones character from their appearance, so it is important that you impress the interviewer not only by what and who you know, but by how you dress. For example a suit shows the person to be professional, tidy and neat, adult and modest and gives a far greater first impression than casual dress.
2) Finances: It is not important to be a millionaire, nor is it vital to have enough money to afford a third holiday abroad every year, or two cars. Money does not necessarily bring happiness. However that said, money is undeniably important for survival. It is a simple fact that we cannot live without money for it provides security. Thus it is important that you have enough to live comfortably, can provide for a family and do not want for any necessities. The state of your finances can be major factor in your happiness levels within the early months/years of your married life for example. If money is tight then there is worry and strain immediately present in the household and ultimately in the relationship. The best scenario for a couple starting out together is to have a combined wage which comfortably covers the monthly outgoings, so money does not become an issue.
3) Personality: Character is ultimately the most important in every situation; how you are as a person and how you conduct yourself has a major impact on others around you and on how you are treated. There is always a reaction to every action we make, for example selfish actions have negative effects. Remember it only takes a second to smile, but it can make someones day. People respect you for your character. You are employed partly due to references, where influential people confirm your character and you gain friends by your personality. It can be said that it is in your best interest to have a personable character, in order to enjoy a full, rich and successful life. Therefore it pays to carefully study who you are as a person and to work on correcting faults and flaws, as well as concentrating on ones looks or financial assets.
