This is the first day of the rest of my life.
Many years were spent as a mother and a wife.
I can not count the many lonely nights.
Don't remember all the endless days.
Lots of different roads I traveled
My paths went many different ways.
Don't have much to show for my life
Or for the sum total of my days.
No Fame or Fortune ever came my way.
No gold metals were ever won.
I know even less right now today ,
Then when this journey first begun.
So when I get to meet my God,
Maybe He will explain to me His plan.
And if I ever failed Him in some way,
I can only hope that He will understand.
For only He has known the secret of my heart,
For only He has looked deep within my soul.
Although I may be getting ready to depart
Only He knows , if I have achieved my goal
So even if I never any earthly accolades won.
Or the world has never known me by my name.
I hope to hear His voice saying "Well done "
When I have arrived safely home again.

The blanket of circumstances

This is the first day of the rest of my life.

An innocent now, with all memories erased
You move through my thoughts like a ghost,
I can barely see or hear you, but I know you're there.
Whispering words that

I walked across the hall Into my room
I closed the door behind me
And entered into my world
You sat at the corner Waiting for
