I miss you, my friend
Hello my friend,
that friendly face,
always a smile in this crazy place
Never a frown, or a bad word spoken,
no regrets for paths never taken
Farewell my friend,
such a cheerful goodbye
a positive cheer, that ready grin,
a symbol of home, as I began again
I'm sorry my friend,
my guilt and distance I cannot erase
that you're slipping away
to that inevitable place.
So we gathered there, friends
to bid you goodbye
to see you rest where those angels fly.
I miss you my friend,
your work was not done,
I wish you were with us,
I'm so sorry you're gone.
