An eye shadow primer or base can first be applied to the eye area to prevent creasing or smudging.

Eyeliner is not recommended, nor is it needed to achieve the natural look. However, if you feel naked without some type of liner, use a brown eye shadow instead, applying sparingly with a thin, angled shadow brush. Make sure it is waterproof if you will be taking a dip in the pool or the lake.

Mascara is an easy solution - most mascara brands are formulated in both regular and waterproof. Simply make sure to wear waterproof mascara to avoid smudges and smears when the temperature rises.
