The Hurting Babes. The Orphanage.
A sea of tiny faces, which one will you choose?
Maybe the saddest child? Or the one whose eyes are blue.
Or the child who sits on his own,
Surely he needs a good home?
Or the pretty girl with the golden blonde hair,
Or the quite child who just sits and stares.
What about the child who looks needy and drawn?
He really does need a loving home.
Or the one whose eyes reflect sadness and loss?
His Mummy didn't love him; how could she not?
What of the baby who lays in his crib?
Or the little boy wearing the tiny, white bib?
Or what of the child who never smiles?
Or the baby girl with the huge, brown eyes?
So which of these children will you choose today?
Cherish them, care for them; love them always?
I wonder what always goes on inside,
Of the hurting babes left behind.
