Donovan McNabb out for the season! That news devastated Eagle fans to the point that some even swore not to watch another game because their season was over. However I was one of the few that still had faith in the birds. I knew they had a fighting chance to make the playoffs. I did not know why I felt this way but I did.
Low and behold back up quarterback Garcia steps up to the plate to give Philly the pride we sought from our team.
Garcia is a great addition to the team. He has great leadership and spirit. I have never seen the Eagles fight so hard. That is how hard they should be playing every season, every game. Here is my theory.
McNabb was the cushion for the team, their safety net if you will. It seemed like each game the team and the fans depended on McNabb to win it for them. With that safety net taken away, it was assumed they were doomed for the season. But Garcia is something the fans nor the team ever expected. Andy Reid did a great job coaching and Garcia is the new backbone for the team. It seems he has shown the team and the fans that you have to fight for what you want. And fight is exactly what they did in their past couple games and what they continue to do. So do they have a good chance against the New York Giants in the wildcard game? Of course they do. They will fight hard. Watch out NY Giants, there is a NEW Philly Eagles team in town!
