Out walking last night
I realized
I wasn't alone
When I saw the hem
Of his white robe
The dogs didn't notice
Too busy sniffing in the grass
He didn't speak
Just let me know he was there
He felt familiar
But I couldn't place the name
It came to me later
The Ascended Master
Friend and brother
For the asking
He'll be there when you call
And sometimes when you don't
A quiet companion
In the darkness
Of a summer evening
