COMPASSION PERSONIFIED:
Listen, young man, whatever you are,
Your mother is waiting;
She grieves from afar.
Alone, she feels abandoned and lost,
Like a rag doll used
And finally tossed.
Silently weeping, her heart is rent;
Remembering times
So pleasantly spent,
When she weaned you to manhood,
Nursed you to health,.
Until your attainment of comfort and wealth.
Listen, young man, wherever you roam,
Forget not to visit
That old-age home
Where smiles are rare with silent weeping,
And the bright sun clouded
By shadows creeping.
Young man, do not your mother forget
She is waiting to see you
Before she can rest
Somewhere past the shadows, beyond the gloom
Where there is neither pain,
Nor sense of doom.

Poetry: Compassion
A Clump Of Clay
I'm nothing but a clump of clay,
I wait to be molded by God's hands.
My shape and gender is known only by
As he approached his local convenience store
He noticed a tattered man sitting by the door
Can you spare some change is what
Bittersweet Symphony
I really hated you when I first met you
I felt like you were lying to everyone around
Seeing you smile
Compassion beams outward to me - flowing
From your bosom there bestowing
Rivers of love from your piercing eyes
Of tender
For Haiti...
Spirit of compassion
may your gracious caring hands
touch the lives of those in need
upon our troubled lands
