Trailer Park Boys I think is easily one of the best television shows out there today. It is a low - budget Canadian mockumentary created and directed by Mike Clattenburg and is set in Canada's Maritimes and is shot similar from the cameraman's point of view and the camera crew is sometimes used in the episodes. The show is about ex-convicts who are always trying to get rich quick such as stealing gumball machines, reselling stolen gas and stealing and reselling barbeques. The show contains lots of drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana. Each season usually ends in Julian and Ricky getting arrested and going to jail. The only season in which a money making scheme worked was in season seven when they used the Swayzie Express to smuggle marijuana across the border where they made 470 000 dollars. The main characters in the show are Ricky (Robb Wells), Julian (John Paul Tremblay) and Bubbles (Mike Smith). Other characters include Jim Lahey (John Dunsworth) who is a crazy drunk trailer park supervisor, Randy (Pat Roach) is the assistant trailer park supervisor who does not wear a shirt under any condition. Lahey and Randy are gay. Cory (Cory Bowles) and Trevor (Micheal Jackson) who follow Ricky, Julian and Bubbles and look up to them. So far there has been seven seasons and 56 episodes (including the prequel special). The cast and crew were to take the summer of 2007 off but there is indications of an eigth and final season that will film in 2008 and will air in 2009. There are also rumours of a spin-off series but there haven't been many details. The show has had several famous artists including Alex Lifeson from the band Rush, singer Rita MacNeil, singer Sebastian Bach from the band Skid Row and singer/songwriter Denny Doherty. There has been a movie based on the show Trailer Park Boys: The Movie. It had the tagline Greasiest Movie of the year and was released on October 6 2006. The movie is also known as The Big Dirty and was nominated for a Genie for best picture of the year but somehow lost. According to Randy And Lahey's website another movie is to be filmed named Trailer Park Boys 2 even though no other site has reported this yet. The movie is supposed to begin filming on August 25th 2008. One thing that is unique about the show is that the main characters of the show are rarely seen out of character even when doing interviews. Bubbles has a trademark song "Liquor and Whores" which he performs on radio stations
