I work in a retirement home and we go through a lot of mops. My boss just bought the housekeeping departments newest mop about 3 weeks ago. I'm the cook and overnight aid, and I have used the mop myself a few times.
About the mop: The Quickie Home- Pro Ring - A -Mop has built in Microban antimicrobial product protection. The mop is suppose to fight odor -causing Bacteria, molds and mildew.
Quickie Home Pro claims a lifetime Antimicrobial protection and a 10 year limited warranty.
We use sponges, wipes and mops to clean our homes and they are breathing grounds for Microbes. Microban antimicrobial product protection inhibits the growth of odor causing bacteria, mold and mildew. The Microban protection has been built -in during the manufacturing of the product, so it provides continuous antimicrobial protection that won't wash off or wear away for the life of the product. There are also refill mop heads available.
Features:
* Easy self - wringing mechanism
* Exclusive super absorbent Dur - A - Sorb strands
* Spot scrubber for removing scuff marks
Before use you should soak the mop head for at least 5 minutes, so that the head can get completley wet, then ring it out and lock the ringer part.
Note: Do not use vinegar with this mop, as per instructions on the package.
What the girls in housekeeping and I think about the Quickie Home - Pro mop.We like the fact that it fights bacteria, germs, mold and mildew, and has Microban antimicrobial protection, as we work in a retirement home full of senior citizens, and it is important to have the home as germ free as possible.
We all also agree that the ringer part is very stiff and a little hard to push down on, but we figure when it gets broken in more it will be easier to use. We also can't get the mop to fully ring out and there is no twist action to the ringer, so that it can be rung out better. The mop is lightweight and easy to handle. The spot scrubber works pretty good as well. We get a lot of scuff marks, due to canes and walkers. I used the mop the other night to clean up a broken juice bottle spill, after sweeping up the glass. I got a bucket of soapy water, and I mopped up the mess which still had bits of glass in it, and later when the floor was dry I checked the floor and there was no glass to be found. I was very happy about that. So overall the girls and I think this is a really good mop, and we are hoping it will hold up for a long time, as we do like the Quickie Home Pro mop.
