"Starscape" by Oberon Media was not what I anticipated at all. From being a diehard of video games, I almost cringed thinking it was going to be a knockoff of "Asteroids" by Atari. This game was awesome and I was impressed from the moment I started playing. What ingenious was used in developing this game. You really don't want to miss one part of it.
The story at the beginning let's you know how are your primary characters and just how you got to where you're going to start your journey. The help guide is actually masterfully entwined with continually unraveling the story for you all the while giving you the information that you need to use all the buttons for all the different things you are able to do. This is a keyboard game which I did like that treat.
Your primary mission is to repair your disabled ship and find your fellow lost crewmates if any even exist. From the trial version, I have yet to discover that answer, but I can't wait to find out.
I love that the game gives you some control as to how you want to do things but at the same time keeping you on track of the mission of the game. The music at the beginning of the game was awesome but as soon as I entered game play it was silent with little noise effects at all. This is the only part of the game I felt was lacking.
But overall this is definitely a game I would play. It has a real plot; it keeps you on your toes when under attack and gives you missions to undertake. It's a really well thought out game and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is a sci-fi fan or enjoys action games. Overall I give this game a 4/5 rating. The only aspect that would make this game perfect would be to add more sound effects while actually playing the game. Outside of that, I can see playing this game for hours on end. It really kept my attention the way it's set up. Kudos!
