Raindrops of her death

Raindrops of her death

Coming from a very influential, well bred and very well off family in the south. The boys all came running when she became dating age. Her father had always told her to find the true one. They were all after her money. She was skeptical. This is until she met him.

He was the one, he was good enough for her father and he was a bad boy out of ear shot. It was late in her senior year of college that she was starting to get ill. They saw dr's and specialist but nobody could figure out what was wrong. They were scheduled to be married in the next three months and she wanted nothing to destroy her perfect day. The day that he would be hers for ever. He was so sweet when she had her bouts of sickness he always brought her tea. She called them her raindrops of heaven they tasted so good. He got me a glass of tea one night it was good but it wasn't raindrops of heaven if nothing else it was Lipton.

The wedding was the most beautiful thing, They drank each others tear in little vials to wash away any future tears. I remember now that she remarked that even his tears tastes like raindrops of heaven. She fell ill again on her honeymoon, she told her mother on the phone that she was so proud that he had stayed by her bedside and bringing her, his special tea.

They came home to a new house and all new furnishings there was nothing out of the ordinary about their life. She didn't work she didn't have to. She had gotten a five million dollar trust fund when she was married. He loved animals so they had bought and built on a ranch. The only thing missing was the babies. She desperately wanted babies. So they went to Dr's who told them that he had a low sperm count and it could be all the riding horses, so he stopped riding as much and started breeding and selling them he was a good rancher. Also, the doctors still were not sure what was wrong with her, it seemed to come in spurts.

Finally the joyous day arrived and she found out that she was pregnant. She wondered while she was pregnant if there was something wrong. he had not made her his special tea the whole pregnancy. They shopped together and took a vacation. Greece was beautiful and they had never been more in love. When they got back from Greece they made the babies room just how they wanted it and even hired a live in nanny to cater to the little dears every whim. I personally thought it was a bit much she didn't even work for heavens sake. The nanny was a sweet girl though brought over from England, couldn't have been more than 18, beautiful child. So it's weeks from the birth of the baby and not a spell. She has been returned to her full health and there are no more signs of the mysterious ailment. Things had never been happier and both of their parents were staying at their home awaiting the newest member of the family.

The night came when the water broke and family all in the newly purchased mini van took off to the hospitol. He was born and named after his father and she was happy. She even said that he was a raindrop from heaven. They brought him home to shower him with love and give him the life that he so fully deserved of this combination. The night they got home everybody thought that she should rest and for the first time in months he makes her a cup of tea. She was a little depressed about the insistence of her husband for her not to breast feed. He said that breast fed boys did not grow up to be men.

As the little man seemed to grow and thrive his mother got sicker and sicker. Only she was so tired of being poked and prodded by doctors she decided that she just has spells and although he put up a fight with her he seemed content to let her make the choice. Then came the babies fourth birthday when she collapsed and had to be hospitolized. Still, nothing she is sent home wheel chair bound at this point and lived for three years in her pajamas watching her son play in the yard and then suddenly she was feeling better again but this was not to last she had a spurt of a year that she felt better. They thought of having another baby now that she was feeling better again. That was when the Doctor told them that there would be no babies. Seems that there had been damage done to her from something unknown but they would test to find out.

That was when she started feeling sick again. She was so grateful to have found a man that has so lovingly stayed by her side through sickness and in health. Always there with his raindrops from heaven. He even started baking her cookies to have with her tea.

It was three days before her 33rd birthday when she died. Of course he was her executor and had all of the power in the estate and her parents were good with it. He had been a good husband after all and was left with a very young son. She was quickly autopsied and cremated. There were all kinds of tests run. When the fax came into the small sheriffs office it was misplaced and never seen again. He decided to take her ashes and spread along the pasture so she would always be on the ranch. Everybody was very sad and on the grave stone ,that was put out in the family graveyard as a memorial and at the insistence of her parents. It simply had her name and in quotations "Raindrops From Heaven"

It was a few weeks after rainy memorial that he asked her mother to come out to the house and get her things. He said that it depressed him to have her things around. So her mother came out to the house and picked up her things and while she was there he offered her a cup of her special tea as one last cup to her. It was then that her mother noticed that there were no similarity's in the tea that he had served her as her daughters tea before. She past it off, but it was like raindrops from heaven it was a good tea.

So it was decided that the adorable little boy that was not motherless was to go visit his grandparents two weekends a month. So when he was dropped off that weekend his grandmother was going through his mothers things and baking some almond bread. Her grandson had brought her a batch of cookies made from his father and she was baking some almond bread to repay him. It was then that her grandson said Raindrops from heaven and his grandmother thought that this was odd. She asked him what would make him make that statement and he said that's what they smell like. He said that his mommies tea always smelled of raindrops of heaven that was what she said they smelled like.

Her mother then though back to the cup of tea at the ranch that day. She then thought of the scented bags in her daughters closet and they smelled of almond too. This was odd she thought as well as she knew her daughter she had never known that almond was her favorite scent. Then she noticed that her purfume was scented with almond. All of these things seemed odd to her. She asked her grandson if these scented bags had always hung in his mommies closet. His response was that she always had the raindrops from heaven hanging in her closet but that there were smells of peace everlasting in her closet now with the nannies things.

This shocking the mother called her former son in law and asked about the statements of the grandson and was told that he and the nanny had just been married and that he knows that it is sudden but they were both grieving. So on a whim she took the cookie to the police department to have them tested and the test came back positive for arsenic. She then went through her daughters things and found the vials from the wedding. Traces of arsenic was found there too. Had he been killing her all along? Looking back on the way everything went I can see that there were strange things going on.

The mother decided that she would have the police arrest him at dinner at her house. She diligently went about her business inviting her former son in law and his new wife and grandson over for dinner. Oddly they had decided to leave the precious tyke with me. After all what am I doing with my time. So they showed up for dinner an hour early and offered drinks he went over to the bar and made martinis for everybody. While they waited for dinner to arrive and unbeknown st to him the police to arrive. The room got fuzzy to all of them but him it was then that is former in laws and his knew wife realized that he had drugged them. He then promptly shot them all and arranged them in a circle around the dining room table and then shot himself.

It was in his will that he was of sound mind and body and that I should be guardian of this beautiful little boy. Of course it was in the grandparents will that their grandson so everything upon their death. So that's how I became the family maid that owns it all now me and my beautiful young man. We have put the past behind us and we are moving on with our lives. Never again will I change the sheets of insane sick people.
