Gifted children: Why many gifted children misbehave

by Gil Myles

Created on: July 29, 2008

In my humble opinion, a majority of gifted children misbehave, because they have very few role models to emulate. They are immature because the subject matter they deal is simplistic and many look to nature in solving complex problems. Most are not challenged and this becomes a problem, why many are bored and fine life rather slow and lack excitement. The sensation for different experiences are interesting and exploring new ways of thinking can keep them busy and self stimulated. The drive for complex issues are desperately needed, and can satisfy their curiosity and allow them to engage in the new experience. The need to keep search for the unusal is top of their list and in figuring out how things work. The average person are so concerned with rules and boundaries and these are non-existence in the gifted child domain of thinking . The lack of writing and mediating are also subjects that allows the gifted child to examine what is inside of him/her, they are some of the tools by which help in keeping their minds clear of wasteful actions and misbehaving. The science of discovery is intriuging and offer a new and strange way of observing the world and how certain thing operate. The art of time management can be essential to the gifted child success and keep him/her focus on objectives. The time to be afreshed with the new, and the twisted can be one of relaxation and enjoyment for the gifted. The ability to judge and reflect on the uncanny ways of looking at the environment differently, can bring about change and help revolutionize the world. The gifted child does not only reflect they internalize and process with enormous speed and precision and their abstract way of viewing the world and society are conceptually different. The abilty to set boundary for the gifted child is important for the boundaries are there to help set parameters of life which are acceptable and unacceptable. The art of discipline for the gifted child are limits and judgements which are concrete and not abstract concepts. The consequences of the gifted action should be talked about an incorporated into his/her dail life. These challenges are just of few of the skill the gifted child must incorporate into their daily program to nurture the greatness that are within each of them. In doing them the gifted child can avoid much of what the normal soiety calls customary, and can adapt to the majority population without being overwhelmed by the parameter set by the normal world and reduce their misbehaving.
