I wrote an article not long ago "Barak Obama Not An Original Thinker" I regret having contributed that article to Helium. I will expalin my reasons shortly. But first let me say that Barak Obama has proven himself a total gentleman. He has genuinely extended his hand to Hillary Clinton notwithstanding all that was said by her throughout the primary. In addition, the McCain Group has used a lot of what Hillary was alleging in her attacks against Sen. Obama to bolster the McCain Group. I have to admit my judgement was poor and off the mark and I take full responsibilty for my position. I want to publically apologize to Senator Obama.
Here's my position on why I have reached this conclusion, and it is a conclusion. I have watched with dismay the lack of the Clinton's actively getting involved in the Obama campaign. There has been talk of former President Clinton helping Sen. Obama. There has been talk of Hillary campaingning for Sen Obama. There has not been much of anything from the Clintons. This to me sends a very strong and counterproductive messeage to the opposing party and the American electorate. How can the Clinton's sit back and watch the McCain Group fabricate lie after lie. This election has so many far reaching ramifications. Just to name a few:(1)the United States Supreme Court and its composition(2)the direction of National Security(3)the war in Iraq (4)the issue of dealing in a civilized manner with those we disagree with(5)Russia is still a potential risk(6)Pakistan and its borders(7)the Palestinian and Isreali question. These and so many other important issues loom large on the horizon.
The Clintons realize this. We can't forget that shortly after President Clinton left office the Republican smear machine went to work on former Vice President Al Gore. George W. H. Bush spared no punch. They rallied the radidcal Right and used every concievable propaganda tool in their arsenal to defeat and minipulate American opinion against the Vice President and it worked. Whose's to say that that same apparatus isn't at work in this important historical election. The Clintons, can only, by their inaction help the Republican Party with their silence and indiffernce. It's time for Hillary to get over her resounding loss to Sen Obama and get back into the fight for the freedoms and rights that she espoused during her run for the White House.
This intermittent off again on again approach will only embolden the adversary. If anyone knows this I am certain that Sen. Clinton does and this ideal is certainly reinforced by former President Clinton. The Clinton's are astute poiticians their entire life has been dedicated to assessing the political environment. Their ability to gauge the political wind has proven invaluable to their many successes in the political arena. However, it is not enough to ramin silent and indifferent. They must engage!
