Now, he is co-owner of the Stewart/Haas racing team, and will be driving car #14 instead. Hailing from Columbus, Indiana, he has won Nextel, Sprint and IndyCar Series races. In addition, he has won races in the USAC, and owns or co-owns several racetracks in several different areas.
Jeff Gordon
The driver of the #24 car, Jeff Gordon hails from Pittsboro, Indiana, where his family moved to in order to support his racing obsession. He has won the Winston Cup four times, and the Indy 500 three times, and been the NASCAR Rookie of the year. In 1999, he co-founded Athletes for Hope with a number of other professional athletes to aid children with life-threatening and chronic illnesses.
Madam C. J. Walker
Touted as the first female to become a millionaire by her own achievements, by The Guinness Book of World Records, Madam C. J. Walker made her money by creating a hugely successful line of hair care and beauty products for black women. Originally from Louisiana, Madam Walker was the first member of her family to be born free. Divorcing her third husband by 1910, she moved her business to Indianapolis by 1917. She donated two-thirds of her estate to various philanthropic interests, including the Tuskegee Institute and Bethune-Cookman College, as well as the NAACP.
