I NEED TO KNOW
There are thousands of stars in the moonlit sky
I think of you and I wonder why
The earth is round and the plain is flat
And why I'm still sitting here in this flat?
On a clear day when the sun does shine
I wonder if you're still a friend of mine,
Will I ever share a home with you?
Is this a thing we'll ever do?
It's been so long now,
With so many delays,
Will we "soon" see
Better days?
Are we wrong to be in search of this quest
For each other, are we the best?
When all is said and all is done,
Will you be the one to whom I'll run?
If, one day, we become as one,
Will we have days that are filled with fun?
If we join in a union, just us two,
Will it be something long overdue?
Will our life together
Break anyone's heart?
If this is true,
Can I bear to start?
If I stay here with the one I call him
Will my future remain, forever, dim?
Will he ever make me feel this is "my" home,
Will he always, away, from me, roam?
All these questions are driving me insane,
I don't know whether to go or remain.
Please make something happen to help me decide,
I don't want to stay here just for the ride.
Help others to know what they really feel,
Help them to find new ways to heal;
Help them to do it in a way
That doesn't cause me pain each day.
I know this is a lot to ask of you
But you're the one who makes dreams come true;
Let me know if my dreams are wrong,
I need to know where I belong.
