Guide to 2007 alternative fuel vehicles in the UK

With the price of fuel ever rising it looks like we are going all out in trying to research new ways to get around. Scientists have been working hard for years trying to develop new ways for us to run our vehicles as cheaply and more importantly as green as we possibly can. Luckily they have succeeded in some ways.

Take for instance the new type of fuel to run our vehicles on. Natural gas. Some cars been developed run solely on natural gas but you can also get bi-fuel vehicles. These type of vehicles give you the choice of using either green natural gas or smoggy diesel and unleaded.

A car out in 2007 with the natural gas fuel adaption was the Honda Civic GX. This was quoted the "cleanest internal-combustion vehicle on earth." As well as this impressive statement it could cut your fuel costs by at least half. Natural gas is around 30% less expensive than ordinary diesel/unleaded. Think about that when your driving, your saving the world and saving your pocket.

Another type of fuel recently adapted into the new cars is electricity. These type of vehicles that run on electricity don't need any type of gas/diesel/unleaded at all. They charge up when you are not using them and produce no carbon emissions. You may find it disappointing that you cannot get far in one of these cars but once the boom kicks off there will be charging stations all over the country.

You can now also get propane vehicles. More commonly recognized as LPG vehicles. It costs quite a bit to convert your car to an LPG car but with the price of the gas it will pay for it self within its first year. With LPG been almost half the price of petroleum you are certainly saving a lot of money.

There are many more ways you can run your car. Some of the ways are stupid and illegal, like trying to get it to run on cooking oil or water. Just remember if you do this you are not helping the planet in anyway, you are damaging your vehicle and you are running the risk of getting heavily fined or even imprisonment. Research alternative fuels and do it the legal way, they will pay for themselves in the long run with the amount of money you save.

These seem to be the way forward in the future of car travel. Scientists are always researching new ways to adapt our cars into environmentally friendly vehicles that will get as much mileage with little cost. In the not so distant future you will see many of the cars described above becoming more and more popular as the price of fuel will continue rising and people will be more economically aware.
