Mid Life Secret

I sometimes feel like a bird who is just about to take flight...still on the ground and not quite in the air. I know what it must feel like to be stuck there.

I sometimes feel like a dreamer who is just about to wake in the night...still with their eyes closed and not quite all aware. I know what it must feel like to be stuck there.

I somtetimes feel like a travler who is just about to take a ride...still with a leg on the threshhold and one foot out the door. I know what it must feel like to wait for so much more.

I sometimes feel like a singer just about to burst into song...still taking that last big breath just before the first note of the score. I know what it must feel like to wait for so much more.

I feel like my life is forever in a holding pattern...still I hope I'm wrong.
