The story of a young wizard swept this country off its feet. Even the church world fell in love with the tales of magic. Many churches endorsed the series to teach positive values to our youth. From a worldly point of view, the characters come to life on the page and screen. The imagination that brought Harry Potter to life is unsurpassed in recent years. The fiction genre, once lacking in original material, now booms with new and exciting manuscripts. Harry Potter the book has certainly caused a stir among the literary minds of today. In the days of super heroes, like Superman, Spider man, Flash Gordon, and yes, even Wonder Woman. The children acted out their favorite hero with make believe capes, masks, and shouts of familiar war cries from their newest episode.
Today's hero is a student of witchcraft. Harry casts spells, flies on broomsticks and studies the black arts. Since Harry TV sit coms and movies have gone witch crazy. Twenty years ago, endorsing witchcraft would have been paramount to heresy; today everything goes. Harry Potter teaches our children the craft of witchery and with many churches blessings no less! How can we teach our children the things of God by using a black arts manual? What positive character can we find among people who use the power of darkness to manipulate people and situations?

How do you explain this insanity to young people? Aren't you telling them witchcraft is fine with God? Is Harry an example of good? Does Harry live the kind of life you want for your Christian children? What will your reaction be when your children cast spells?
The Bible teaches us that we need to love one another as Christ loved us and gave Himself for us. Witchcraft in no way teaches trust in God! It teaches children that Witches can affect the natural world around them by using a dark power. The power they seek to use forces others to bend to their will. Christians learn to allow others free choice. Although we desire everyone to be saved and we pray toward that end, we can't force our will on them. Witchcraft seeks to force its will on those who dare to choose another path.
Our children will emulate someone. They
