Many books lately seem to be cropping up on the subject, many very skeptical, as are some of the articles or pieces here on Helium. Some speak of the arrogance of knowing something which is inexplicable, hence the fear along with the rebukes to the ignorance of those who claim to know.
Spirituality is physics, or where the study of physics begins, in other words answers were and are being sought in reference to the physical world. With that came the study of religion, or theology, wanting to answer the questions, the unknown, while at the same time give limits to those in whatever society or group the authority wanted to keep at bay. Socrates, philosophers, physicists, before and after have all, and still, give their opinions, views, ideas on the whole picture.
Religion is meant to take care of this paradoxical piece of the puzzle, the unknown, at least in the spiritual sense. Meaning secrets are meant to be secret because of the fact many could not handle the truth of what is comprehensible to some. Fact is though that religion, especially Christianity, has not come close to actually conveying what true life means as it does not understand what true love means. This is not to criticize Christians, or any religion, or people, it is just a fact which we all see everyday in the reality of why peace is not so easy to realize, though it is not at all futile to always pursue. Western practice has always seemed to make things more convenient, which is the problem. Life is only easy when it is realized how difficult it is. Growth is the solution, not the problem, yet arrogance with that growth seems to be too prevalent in many with a so called higher intellect.
Lifetimes are given by physicists with their studies and calculations, some ending in exasperation, frustration, or worse, all normal courses of the events of life. Interestingly many of the most brilliant men and women who are physicists end up studying the Eastern mystical teachings, which in some instance helps them advance in their studies, or perhaps helps explain what they can not seem to explain on paper with equations. With the philosophers it is easier, at least in thought, to just explain how change is always present and constant.
Spirituality or, whatever people chose to name or label the subject remains the same, life. Life, or being alive as a human being, is not just a one explicable subject, nor can it be analyzed to death either (as there is no death) and the spirit of life is not anything which
