So you've been given the honour of organising your friend's hen party. After being initially flattered, you suddenly come to the realisation of what a major task you have in store. These days, you hear about all sorts of hen parties ranging from a meal out with a few friends to a whole week abroad with the girls. But don't panic, your friend obviously chose you because she thinks you are capable and with a couple of good ideas and tips to set you on the right path you will be able to give your friend a night (or a week!) to remember.
My first piece of advice would be to try and avoid involving the bride to be in the organisation as much as possible. In my experience, organising such an event can be very stressful, particularly on the day, as you will be wondering whether everyone will turn up, are they having a good time and are you keeping to your schedule of activities. Even if your friend is one of those who loves to be in control, I'm sure she will thank you on the day when she can just relax and enjoy herself without the worry of what is happening next. You probably already know the bride to be well and so will know what things she would like and equally what she wouldn't want. If you are still unsure, seek the advice from some of her other close friends.
Here are a few ideas of what to do to give your bride to be an amazing hen party:
Day events
1. Day out at the races
2. Pamper day at a spa
3. Dance lesson e.g. Egyptian belly or burlesque dancing
4. Treasure hunt requires a lot of planning but you can hide clues around your venue for the bride to be to find.
5. Photograph quiz separate the group into teams and prepare a list of things for each team to find and photograph with themselves in it.
Night events
1. Dinner at a nice restaurant
2. Night on the town visiting bars and a club
3. Night in with the girls doing facials, watching videos, gossipingetc
4. Theatre
5. Limousine
6. Fire engine/Party bus
7. Stripper/kissogram
8. Karaoke
Nowadays it seems a hen party isn't complete without dressing up for a particular theme, it can often be the make or break of a hen party. We've all seen the playboy bunnies and girls wearing devil horns but what about something more unusual? How about big hair, shoulder pads and leg warmers for a 1980's theme or a feathered headdress and bow and arrows for an American Indian theme. The more unusual the better, and it also acts as an added bonus of being a way to spot people from your group
