Youtube is an excellent source of music videos, songs, funny videos and replays of all kinds of shows. Youtube has also created an opportunity for average Joes like you and me to get fame or get recognized for our talents.
Just a few weeks ago I saw a young kid making some amazing basketball shots, and he had over 1 million views on the video. This means that over a million people have viewed that video. For singers, dancers who can't get enough recognition, then YouTube is the perfect place for letting people know that you have the talent.
Now to the tips for broadcasting yourself on YouTube:
1.) Create an account and keep it: Create your own individual account with your name and profile and before posting a video you will need this account or you will not be able to post the video. With the account you will also be able to comment on other people's videos.
2.) Watch and Learn: Depending on what video you want to make, why don't you look up something similar on YouTube? For example for a singing broadcast just type something like "Singing" and see some top rated videos and get ideas from them. You can easily see the difference between a video with a million views and a video with a hundred views.
3.) Video/Sound/Imaging Quality: Use a high quality camera because people don't want to see a blurry screen. This is a huge problem on YouTube. A lot of video makers use their webcam, move the camera a lot, or choose an ugly background.
For a video with singing or opinions it is important to have sound quality, which a good video camera should have. Using Photoshop to add some effects or changing backgrounds that are pleasing to the eye can also be an effective way to get people to view the video for a longer period of time. Your goal should be to make people come back and see the video again and then share it with their friends.
Now I will go towards the actual video tips
- Be Specific: Have clarity in videos which means that your video shouldn't be random. Your video should show what it is suppose to show. There are a lot of random videos on YouTube which sooner or later people delete or forget about them and that is exactly what you don't want. If you are making a video on your life then video something that is 'your life' not something random. If your video is about basketball tricks, then don't show you're dancing moves in that video, etc.
- Camera Adjustments: Move the camera here and there, focus in, and focus out so that people can see the more important parts closely.
Remember that you don't want to bore people and you want to get recognition. Something like "Thanks for watching" at the end of the video shows respect to the viewer and will definitely make them write something positive if not anything else. Make a video on something you are good at and have fun!
