You do not need to go out and buy a new television to keep up with the 2008 digital cable mandate set forth by our government! Throw away that old clunky and heavy television warping a hole in that living room carpet and just plug in your computer. Think this is crazy? Not at all, take a look at this!
First, you will need a computer system (including a monitor) to be able to watch television over the Internet. Your computer needs to have a tv tuner card in it. We suggest the usage of the All-in-One Pro by Creative Labs. You will also need decent software and a high speed cable modem.
Your tuner card has a coaxial cable extension that allows you to plug your cable cord into the card. This card acts as a decoder that translates the incoming cable signal from the outlet and arranges it so that the monitor presents a picture and sound that is suitable for viewing. Having a decent software program is also good for the decoding and viewing of these programs. These programs are along the lines of the Real Player Networks system.
The most important part needed is the Internet connection. Without an excellent connection, your Internet TV will not be a good viewing experience. It is essential that you have a broadband Internet connection with superior modem and upload speeds. Contact your local cable provider for a cable Internet subscription for your home.

Throw away that old television of yours and say goodbye to the shelf radio as well. The computer has now taken over all of your entertainment needs. For the first time ever, you can get over 3000 audio and video channels on your home computer! You can enjoy content from over 80 countries around the world.
This miracle of modern technology is now available without the need for additional hardware, monthly subscription fees, or worries of using pirated materials. You can see just about anything you can imagine on this player via the Internet TV system. You can see sports (baseball, basketball, wrestling), major networks (news, business, kids networks), movie channels (drama, romance, suspense), music channels (rock, rap, classics), news channels (local news, politics, talk shows), and TV shows (sitcom, games, reality shows).
You can purchase the links to these 3000 channels for about fifteen dollars by searching the web for Internet TV servers. In addition to the channels listed above there are even free user created content sites such as you tube and myspace that enable users to create and upload their own content for others to view and download free of charge.
Parents beware while there are some channels that are well suited for children on these sites, there is also adult rated content as well that is just as easily accessible as similar content on the web. Be sure to add those sites to your parent watch software that you should already have on your browser.
