Outdoor activities and things to do in the Dominican Republic

One of the most popular amusement parks in the Dominican republic is the Ocean World Adventure Park, Marina and Casino, Puerto Plata. This is a major attraction for vacationers, presently ranking number 2 of 22 attractions of places to see in the Dominican Republic.
Ocean World is divided into two parts. The Adventure Park is the main part, it has 5 main areas; dolphins, sharks, sea lions, birds and tigers. This spectacular site has an Aquarium, Casino and Water park.

Manati Park Bavaro is located in Punta Cana. If you like outdoor activities this is the perfect place to be. The popular zoo is home to a large selection of exotic birds, wild animals and marine life. Children and young teens especially enjoy Manati Park Bavaro.

Lago Rincsn is the Island's largest freshwater lake and has gained popularity among bird watchers.

Amber World Museum is located in the heart of Santo Domingo and the population of tourists visiting this location steadily increases each year. Amber World Museum is very easy to find because it is located on a major street in the Zona Colonial. The museum has been producing precious amber for over two years.

Damajaqua Cascades rankes number 1 out of 182 related attractions. Damajaqua Cascades consists of 27 waterfalls. Children especially enjoy watching the falls pouring down over the colorful coral rock formations.

Columbus Aquaparque Water Park is one of the largest water parks on the Island. The park features 14 slides, 2 pools, and several eateries. Perfect for the whole family.

An excellent outdoor activity is Horseback Riding. The Island horses are trained and appear very gentle especially around children. Special rates are available for those under 12 years of age.

You can always take a stroll in the Glass bottom boat. The Glass bottom boat is quite an experience. You can ride the boat through the clear waters of the Sosua bay and view all of the sea life beneath.

For golf lovers the Playa Dorada Golf Club is one of the most popular courses on the Island.
The Playa Dorada offers 18 holes of cultivated fairways along with a 72 par golf, and you have the beauty of Mount Isabela looming inland behind you.

The Loase Resort & Racquetball Court is popular for those who like to play outdoor racquetball, squash and wallyball. The Loase Resort location has been used numerous times by DR National Team Racquetball players.

Scuba Diving is a popular outdoor activity for vacationers. The visibility is about 50 feet and there are numerous destinations
