OF COURSE COACH HANDBAGS ARE WORTH THE MONEY.

Money is just money. You earn some, you spend some. So why not buy a nice Coach handbag and cheer yourself up?

The quality of Coach handbags is undeniable. Unlike my raggedy Dooney & Bourke handbag with the broken zipper (Sorry D & B, but it's true), my Coach handbag is in excellent condition, despite having been dragged all over the place for almost two years. Also, it's still as cute as ever and I get plenty of compliments on it.

Considering that handbags get used daily, two or three hundred dollars isn't that much if you divide it out over the course of a year. A durable handbag can easily last a year or several years. Some women keep handbags for a lifetime. That's just pennies a day. So looking at it that way, Coach handbags are practically free.

If you are on a budget, and not excited about shelling out a few hundred dollars initially, there's always eBay. Many people update their handbag wardrobe yearly or even seasonally, which allows thrifty shoppers the opportunity to find great deals.

Another option is joining the website bagborroworsteal.com, made famous in The Sex and The City movie. As it was described in the movie, "It's like Netflix for purses."
Participants receive designer handbags or accessories and keep them until they grow tired of them, then send them back in exchange for fresh, new handbags and accessories. Bagborroworsteal.com is definitely cost-effective, and fun, if you don't mind sharing. Just try not to spill your strawberry daiquiri all over your borrowed bag.

If you decide that borrowing is not for you, the nice thing about purchasing a Coach handbag is that just one or two are all you need. A new, authentic Coach purse will likely look great for years. If you choose a simple, classic style, it can be a great wardrobe staple.

Speaking of shopping for AUTHENTIC handbags, if you buy your Coach purse from a flea market in a foreign country where it was arranged on a colorful blanket with other Coach purses, and some Fendi purses, and it was less than $10, it's probably a knock-off. It will fall apart and weird paper with Chinese writing will fall out of the handle. Trust me.

Back to the quality aspect of Coach purses, I have about three zillion bags made from bamboo, hemp, recycled tires and seatbelts, and Hurricane Katrina shingles. They all kind of disintegrate over time. But Coach just keeps going and going. Getting better with age like a block of cheese.

If you aren't a fan of the Coach logo stamped obviously all over the handbag, there are more discreet models available. Then again, many people consider Coach to be a designer brand, and discretion kind of misses the point of choosing designer brands...

To summarize, it's not a car or a house, it's just a purse. If it makes you happy, buy it. If you realize later that you hate it, you can always sell it on eBay or at a resale shop.
