Christian understanding of how to 'be like Christ'

To be Christ like is a tall order, let me remove the notion that His Mother Mary was a virgin after his birth and also that he, as special as he was, not be a son of a super human being. He meant to say that he was a son of God the same as you and I are children of God. I take you back 2000 years to discover why Jesus came to say that he was the son of God.

Jesus grew up as a child by Joseph and Mary, he was a loved child and learned his beliefs in the synagogue and by associating with the learned people in his environment. He probably was as gifted a student in theology as Mozart was in music. The bible in his days was the old testament only and he read the passages many times plus discussing, what he learned.

He too, like us, questioned the reasoning behind the explanations and examples of the old testament and his interpretations were his own. I discussed passages out of the bible with my parents and my Mom, whom had read the whole bible, to some lenghts.
My Mom had the facts and my father would argue not to take certain parts literally.

Jesus fed a hungry crowd with two fishes and my Father would say, symbolically yes but literally you cannot feed a lot of people with two fishes. My Mom said, if Jesus said he did than he did. My father said, ok, he made them feel better but their stomachs could not have been full.

I overheard many discussions like that, my parents were frustrated at times with these discussions but the scenes were never ugly. I appreciated them for keeping things civil and in my heart I took my Fathers side in the argument. Explanations using metaphors gets a story across but it leaves the person free to make their mind wander.

Noah and the Ark story is one of those stories my Father had no use for as it was completely inconceivable to him that it had saved all the animals we know.

Anyway, Jesus had a critical view as well about these matters and decided that it did not matter as to how to interpret these stories but to accept the old testament for what it is.
Our lives are not long enough to trace all the events and that it is more important to pay attention to the happenings of the day.

In all likely hood Jesus had no knowledge of prehistoric animals, he had no knowledge of the sciences of our world and he had no idea that we as humans were only here for about a million years as compared with age of our world of billions of years.

The disciples quoted Jesus to be the son of God, but Jesus knew full well that Joseph was his Father.
Jesus also knew,
