Tesco steamed vegetables

I do all of my shopping in Tesco's because it's the nearest supermarket to where we live and I collect the Tesco Clubcard points too. When I am buying vegetables I usually only buy the fresh ones from the fruit and veg aisle; I only buy frozen veg if they don't have what I'm looking for in the fresh veg aisle. Last week when I was paying for my shopping in Tesco's I handed the cashier my Clubcard and paid for my shopping, when the receipt was printed out there was also a coupon which entitled me to 250 extra Clubcard points if I bought the Tesco Steam Veg. So I tucked the receipt in my purse and so as I could buy them on my next visit (which I did).

The Tesco Steam Fresh Vegetables didn't cost that much to buy, they only cost 1.29 per bag. Inside each bag of Steam Vegetables there are four smaller bags which are the equivalent to one portion of vegetables for one person. Each portion of the Steam Vegetables weighs 120g and consists of a few cauliflower florets, some carrot batons and fine green beans. Although each of the four packs of the vegetables contained more green beans than carrots and cauliflower, which is a good thing if you like green beans. I would have preferred it if there were more carrots and cauliflower and less green beans because I'm not too keen on the green beans.

On the back of the packet you will find the instructions on how to cook the Steam Vegetables. There is only one option available to you and this is to microwave them or in just.bcoz terms "Ping-Ding them". I usually microwave a lot of things because it saves on washing up, I'm not saying that everything I cook is thrown into the Ping-Ding, I just mean that I make scrambled egg, heat up beans, soup, spaghetti etc in the Ping ding so microwaving vegetables was a new experience for me. How hard could it be, all you have to do is put the veggies in the ping-ding shut the door and leave them to cook for the instructed amount of time and then serve. I wish it was as easy as that, I encountered a little problem along the way.

As I said the instructions on how to cook the vegetables are printed on the back of the packet. You just need to place a bag of the vegetables (equivalent to one portion) in the microwave and cook them for three minutes and then leave them to stand in the bag for one minute before you serve them. But this only applies to one portion of the vegetables; I had to cook four portions of them so as me, hubby and the kids could each have a portion of them with our dinner.
